Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education

The Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education (GDipECE) programme is designed for practicing early childhood educators and childcare providers who want to expand their academic knowledge and enhance their professional skills. It is specially tailored for educators and childcare providers who intend to acquire a recognised qualification in early childhood education but are unable to leave their place of work. The programme is internationally benchmarked, approved by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency.

Able to apply knowledge of child development in planning supportive and challenging learning environments for children.
Able to plan and implement Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) for young children, with sensitivity to individual needs.
Able to explain organisational regulations, policies, ethical guidelines, and standards associated with the provision of early childhood education services.
Able to appreciate that teaching young children is an art, science, craft and profession.

NORMAL ENTRY

Malaysian & International Students:

‘A’ Levels / STPM / STAM / Diploma or its equivalent accepted by AeU Senate

Note: International students are required to attain a level of English Language Proficiency equivalent to IELTS of 5.5 or TOEFL score of 550 or passed the AeU Placement Test or other equivalent approved by the Senate of AeU.

ALTERNATIVE ENTRY

Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) Entry Requirements:

21 years of age as of 1st January in the year of application
Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Senate of AeU; and
Possess relevant work experience
Passed an aptitude test and APEL assessment.
