Founder/ Executive Director

Tan Sri Dato Sri' Stary Loo Chong Sing is the Director of Synergy Energy. He holds the key role as Head of Commercial & Investment where is responsible for driving the overall vision and strategic direction of the Company.

Tan Sri Dato Sri' Stary Loo Chong Sing has been in the oil and gas trading industry for more than 23 years. His first foray into the oil and gas trading business started in 2004 with the incorporation of Welstar Enterprise Co. Ltd in Thailand. Welstar Enterprise Co. Ltd was a joint energy trading company with Winsway Petroleum & Chemical Group in China. The joint venture lasted up to 2009 wherein, Tan Sri Dato Sri' Stary Loo Chong Sing entered into another joint venture with Mercuria SA via the incorporation of Mercuria Resources Ltd (Thailand).

Under his stewardship, Mercuria Resources Co., Ltd. (Thailand) was expanded to a multi-billion turnover company over a period of 5 years. During the partnership’s period, Tan Sri Dato Sri’ Stary Loo Chong Sing was also instrumental with the incorporation of Mercuria Resources Labuan Ltd. in 2013 to take advantage of the GIFT Programme. The joint venture with Mercuria SA ended in December 2014 and thereafter Tan Sri Dato Sri’ Stary Loo Chong Sing went on to incorporate Synergy Energy (Thailand) Co., Ltd. which commenced business in 2015.

Dato' Sri CP Loo

Managing Director

Dato’ Sri CP Loo is the Managing Director and one of the shareholders of Synergy Energy. As the Managing Director, he is responsible for the product sales, and day-to-day operations of the company.

Dato’ Sri CP Loo began his career in the IT Industry and has more than 28 years experience in the said industry where previously, he was the Managing Director of Sun Microsystems Malaysia.

In 2009, Dato Sri’ CP Loo joined an international trading company as an Executive Director based in Bangkok. He subsequently helped to set up another trading office in KL in 2013. During his tenure with Mercuria, he was the principal in charge of the operations and procedures of the company. He was also the key person of business development in the company, spanning across commodities and also renewable energy.

Sarakorn Kulatham

Senior Executive Advisor

Mr. Sarakorn has 36 years of experience in the oil industry, majoring in petroleum trading business. Before joining Synergy Energy (Thailand) Co., Ltd. as the Senior Executive Advisor, he was involved in the refinery working as a Supply and Trading Manager and Deputy CEO for 5 years.

Before that, he was the Senior Executive Vice President of Petroleum Trading Business Unit in PTT Public Company Limited for 4 years. Before his retirement from PTT and Refining Business Unit, Mr. Sarakorn held the position of Senior Executive Vice President of Petrochemical.

Christine Tsai

Director - Trading and Operations

Ms. Christine Tsai has more than 30 years of experience in operations, shipping and physical oiltrading. Ms. Tsai started her career as a shipping operations executive with Thainava Shipping Company in Singapore and was with the company for 19 years. She left to join International Oil and Tanking Pte Ltd, a company involved in oil shipping as the office and operations manager. Ms. Tsai has since worked with AST Shipping Company in Singapore and Welstar Enterprise (Thailand) Co., Ltd. under similar capacity which her main forte being shipping and chartering operations.

In 2010, she joined Mercuria Resources Co., Ltd. in Thailand and in January 2015, Ms. Tsai joined Synergy Energy (Thailand) Co., Ltd. as General Manager for crude oil trading and operations. As General Manager for crude oil trading and operations, her scope of work include overseeing the three stages of operations which include contract drafting, plan the loading and delivery dates, prepare documentary instructions and arrange for payments.

Keith Chin

Finance Director

Mr. Keith Chin is responsible for overseeing the financing function of the Company. With over 20 years of experience in trade finance management, he manages bank facilities for trade finance and relationship with banks.

From the year of 1996 till 2009, Mr. Keith Chin was a director of a petroleum and petrochemical trading company to manage its overseas affiliations, also served as Head of Investment Management, Head of Administration Management and Head of Business Operations of the company. Subsequently during 2010 to 2014, he was a director of the companies engaged in renewable energy development and energy commodity trading.

Anuchar Chotirosvakin

General Manager Operations

Mr. Anuchar has over 15 years of experience in operations. He is a well-organized, self-motivated, multi-task oriented, dedicated international business professional and a valuable member of the Synergy Energy team.

Mr. Anuchar has an extensive experience in Inspection at SGS group, and shipping operations at Mercuria Resources Co., Ltd. in Thailand. He owns a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and a Master in Environment, of which he has used to gain an established background in Crude & Petroleum operations. Mr. Anuchar has always been dedicated in providing a top-notch performance to facilitate and achieve strategic business goals with Synergy Energy’s team.

Mohd Hafez Yusuf

General Manager – Trading

Mr. Mohd Hafez Yusuf has been involved in oil trading industry for 10 years. He joined Synergy Energy in August 2015 as a business development manager dealing with oil majors and regional oil trading companies.

He started working with PETRONAS Crude Oil Group as a risk analyst in March 2006 and subsequently appointed as a trader at PETRONAS Trading Corporation (PETCO) Sdn. Bhd. in April 2010. Later in February 2014, he joined Petroleum Brunei (PB) Trading Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Brunei National Petroleum Company (BNPC) as a trading risk manager.
